Ah, my third time back in the land of fish and chips and I still had an amazing time! My first trip to England was 7 years ago, when I was a solo travel virgin. I was barely legal to go to bars and I had never gone anywhere on my own. I was a baby bird flying out of the nest for the first time. It was exhilarating! My first solo England trip has shaped me up to be who I am today; an independent young lady with a thirst for adventure. It had literally changed my life.
Last May I went back to England for my own personal reasons regarding matters of the heart. A part of me wanted to know if London and Brighton still feels the same while another part of me wanted to create new memories to move on from the past. When I landed in London from my short flight from Amsterdam, a rush of emotions took over me. I felt overwhelmed but also at ease. It felt like I was visiting an old friend and my heart was excited but nervous. What if it isn’t as great as the way we remembered it? What if too much time has passed and we won’t have much in common anymore?
My worries quickly diminished as soon as I dropped my bags off at my super cool hostel. My room was on the David Bowie floor, which meant something to me because he passed away just months before. So many places I went to blasted his music and I couldn’t help but bopped along to the beat.
This post is so long overdue but I wanted to share some photos that really captured the vibes and moments of my trip. Let’s take a trip down memory lane!
I was pretty much obsessed with Farm Girl Cafe. Best Rose Latte ever!
Some friendly girls I met in the hostel and I took a day trip to explore Central London!
I loved walking along the River Thames and exploring South Bank.
Discovered love locks in Shoreditch!
I went out for Happy Hour in Camden by myself but it was buy two drinks for the price of one. Double fisting seemed acceptable.
I spent my last night in London finding this blue Police Box outside of the Earl Court’s tube station. I’m a big Doctor Who nerd so this was a MUST! I ended the night by having a burger and beer. It was fantastic!
Still so many things I need to cross off my bucket list in this exciting city! I can’t wait to go back and share another post. Hope this entertained you!
